Designer workflow (plot first)

Some shows start with a blank room, not a warehouse. This path is for a designer working from the drawing outward: lay out the room, place the gear, and let ShowKeep and ShowBill pick up the pull sheet and the paperwork once the design is done.

  1. Create the show and room. Set up the room or stage to real dimensions in ShowPlot. See Create a show and a room.
  2. Place gear from the library. Draw with generic fixtures and gear, or with your organization's real inventory if ShowKeep is linked. See Place gear from the library and Use your ShowKeep inventory inside ShowPlot.
  3. Produce a pull sheet. When the design is settled, send the show to ShowKeep. This is the classic "turn the drawing into a pull sheet" move: every fixture and piece of gear lands as a line, matched to inventory, with shortages flagged. See Send work between apps and Check availability before you pull.
  4. Let ShowKeep take it from here. The crew pulls against the job ShowKeep created. You do not need to touch ShowKeep again unless the design changes. See Jobs.
  5. Hand off tech sheets and exports. Back in ShowPlot, export branded tech sheets and drawings for the crew, the venue, or the client. See Exports.

:::tip Keep drawing after you send Sending to ShowKeep does not lock the plot. Keep revising the design, and the next send updates the same linked job instead of creating a duplicate. If ShowKeep pulls gear before you finish revising, opening the job later shows what changed on the ShowPlot side. :::

:::note This is a Max connection Sending the plot to ShowKeep needs both apps on Max, or the bundle. Without it, ShowPlot still works as a drawing and export tool on its own. See What each tier unlocks for integration. :::
