Save, version, and restore a show

You don't save a show by hand in ShowPlot. It saves itself as you work, and keeps a safety net underneath that.

Autosave

A moment after you stop editing, ShowPlot writes your change to the server. A small status indicator near the show's name tells you where things stand: unsaved, saving, or saved. Trust it over guessing, if it says saved, the server has your latest change.

If you go offline

Lose your connection mid-edit and ShowPlot keeps working: your changes are held locally and the status flips to offline. Reconnect, and if the tab closed before it could sync back up, ShowPlot offers to recover that local draft the next time you open the show, so a dropped connection never quietly costs you work.

If two edits collide

Open the same show in two tabs, or have a teammate editing it at the same time, and you can end up with two versions saved seconds apart. ShowPlot flags this plainly ("This show changed elsewhere") and gives you the choice: Keep mine to overwrite the other version with what's in front of you, or Load theirs to take the newer save and drop your own unsaved changes.

Version history

Behind every save, ShowPlot keeps a history of earlier saved versions of the show, so a bad edit that already autosaved isn't the only copy that exists. Restoring an earlier version brings it back as the current one without losing the ability to undo that restore itself. How many versions stick around depends on your plan:
