Your ShowKeep cases become ShowPlot's truck pack

Packing a truck well is a spatial problem, and ShowPlot is a spatial tool. ShowKeep knows your cases and what is in them; ShowPlot knows the truck. Put together, you load the truck on screen before you load it for real.

What ShowKeep provides

In ShowKeep, an inventory item can be a case: a Pelican, a road case, a rack, a trunk. A case carries its real attributes:

  • Exterior and interior dimensions, and weight.
  • Caster size and load rating, and rack spaces where it applies.
  • Attributes such as stackable, rides on top, and do not flip.
  • A dedicated home: gear that always travels in its own case, so the case knows what it should hold.

When you pack gear into cases for a job, ShowKeep records what is in each case, including cases nested inside other cases.

What ShowPlot does with them

Open the truck pack tool on a ShowPlot project and it asks ShowKeep for the cases your job needs. It can work from:

  • Pulled cases, the real case units already checked out to the job.
  • Estimated cases, worked out from the unpulled gear and its dedicated case homes, so you can plan before you pull.

ShowPlot then lets you:

  • Pick a vehicle preset (a 53 foot trailer, a 26 or 16 foot box truck, a sprinter van, or a custom size) and set the interior and wheel wells.
  • Auto-pack: heaviest cases first, stacking only stackable cases, keeping a clean strap line every six feet.
  • Drag and rotate cases to repack by hand.
  • Print a pack sheet with a top-down view, a front view down each strap line, per-layer stacking views, weight totals, and load bar placement.

:::tip Plan the truck before you pull the gear Because ShowPlot can estimate cases from your dedicated case homes, you can see how many cases a job will need, and whether it fits the truck, before anyone opens a shelf. :::

What you need

  • The case shapes come from ShowKeep, so this works best with ShowKeep on Max or the bundle. Cases themselves are available on every ShowKeep tier; importing them into ShowPlot is part of the ShowKeep integration.
  • The pack sheet export follows ShowPlot's normal export rules: a watermarked image on Free, a clean PDF on Pro and Max.
